Academies

At Tawa Intermediate, our Academies programme provides students with the opportunity to explore interests, talents, and passions beyond the regular classroom curriculum. Through a wide range of experiences including Dance Academy, Drama, Choir, Kapa Haka, Unity, Textiles, Art, and many more, students are encouraged to discover what excites them, develop new skills, and connect with others who share similar interests.

Many of our academies require an audition or selection process due to limited spaces and the specialised nature of the programmes, allowing students to be challenged and supported to achieve excellence in their chosen area. Academies offer a unique chance for students to learn in different ways, express their creativity, build confidence, and experience success in areas they may not otherwise encounter during the regular school day.
